{"id":41,"date":"2006-06-30T01:38:45","date_gmt":"2006-06-30T00:38:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blog.sudocue.net\/?p=41"},"modified":"2021-09-15T21:16:34","modified_gmt":"2021-09-15T20:16:34","slug":"hanidoku","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.blog.sudocue.net\/?p=41","title":{"rendered":"HaniDoku"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you&#8217;re busy and have no time left, there is only one thing you can do: Start something new that even takes up more time!<\/p>\n<p>When I was playing a game of Catan, I realized that the shape of the segments in this game could also be used for a new puzzle format.<\/p>\n<p>A sudoku variant with hexagonal cells did exist, but it still had boxes and lines of equal length. So I decided to work out a concept with lines of different length, and drop the box constraint. This turned out to be a very good idea. With lines in 3 directions, the boxes would have so many intersections, that the puzzles would be too easy to solve.<\/p>\n<p>The lines with different size open the way to new solving techniques.
